Fans Freak Out Over Spider-Man 2 Trailer
Fans of the Spider-Man video games from Insomniac already have a bit of a history of being, well, let’s just say eccentric when it comes to even the tiniest details in the games. And boy did they nearly lose it this week after the debut of the new Spider-Man 2 trailer at Comic-Con. Why? Because they were convinced that poor Mary Jane had undergone some drastic facial transformation.
Let’s set the record straight once and for all: it’s the same face, same model, same actress. No need to panic, people! Take a deep breath and relax!
To quash the rumors, Insomniac’s director of community and marketing, James Stevenson, took to Twitter to confirm that MJ remains unchanged. Sure, her hairstyle has changed in the sequel, and the use of improved face scanning technology may have made her model more accurate, but her face remains untouched.
Thankfully, it seems like everyone has taken the correction in stride. The SpidermanPS4 subreddit, known for its passionate community, has responded positively to the news. One particularly amusing reply thread suggested that people would easily fall for Clark Kent’s “disguise.” Touché, my friends, touché!
In other exciting news, let’s not forget to talk about the new Spider-Man 2 trailer that debuted at Comic-Con yesterday. It was nothing short of awesome! We got a closer look at Venom, finally found out who his unfortunate host is this time, spotted a super obscure villain reference, caught up with the infamous J. Jonah Jameson, and, oh, did I mention the absolutely stunning Spider-Man 2-themed PS5 and DualSense controller? Talk about eye candy!
