Bugsnax received a pretty sGameTopicificant free update post-release that added quite a lot of new things to the game. The most sGameTopicificant and noticeable addition is surely the area that gives the update its name – Broken Tooth, or Bigsnax Island.

There are some tough challenges to be had here, including a new tool to get to grips with, a Legendary Bugsnax to defeat, lots of fun puzzles and quests, and a whole meal’s worth of new Bugsnax to catch.

How To Get To Broken Tooth

Broken Tooth is a late-game area that is only unlocked once you have completed the side quests of five separate characters: Chandlo, Snorpy, Shelda, Floofty, and Triffany.

Once these prerequisites are met, you’ll start the Broken Tooth questline by talking to Snorpy and Chandlo at Snaxburg. Follow them to Simmering Springs, go on to recruit the other three Grumpuses, and then you can finally make the journey across the sea.

How To Use Shrink Spice

All of the Bugsnax on Broken Tooth Island are huge. As a result, you have to use a unique, new tool to bring them down to more normal sizes before you can use your more conventional capture methods on them.

Dotted around the island are pots of Shrink Spice. When these make contact with a large Bugsnax, it will shrink down to a more manageable size. After a while, the spice will wear off.

As soon as you pick up some Shrink Spice, a 30-second timer will start. You only have these 30 seconds to use the Shrink Spice, or it’ll disappear and you’ll have to go grab some more.

There are 11 Bugsnax on Broken Tooth Island, one of which is a Legendary snak with its own boss fight. Here are their basic details:

How To Catch Every Bugsnax In Broken Tooth

You’ll need to use most of the skills you’ve accrued over the course of the game to catch every Bugsnax here. The tools you’ll need are:

• Sauce Slinger: Every sauce required can be found without leaving.
• Trip Shot
• Buggy Ball
• Shrink Spice

Here are some tips on catching each Bugsnax:

1. Bunger Royale: Catch by shrinking it with Shrink Spice and then tripping it up with your Trip Shot. Grab it with your Bug Net right after.
2. Cheddorb: Shrink the Cheddorb down with Shrink Spice and it’ll flee to the nearest hiding place. Place your Snak Trap at one end and use your Buggy Ball to flush it out from the other.
3. Millimochi: Heat it up with a spicy Bugsnax and use Shrink Spice while it’s dazed. Wait for a Deviled Eggler to notice it, then capture it.
4. Spaghider: Shrink it down with Shrink Spice and cover it with cheese. Use the Trip Shot to set it on fire, causing it to fall to the ground.
5. Clawbsteroni: Shrink it down and place your Snak Trap in its path. Use the Snakgrappler to capture its tags.
6. Tikkada Masala: Cover a nearby Millimochi with hot sauce. Shrink it down when it gets dazed and capture it.
7. Pielobite: Use the Snakgrappler to capture its tags. Shrink it down with Shrink Spice, but beware of its high-speed escape.
8. Chocolant: Shrink it down and it’ll hide inside a nearby hollow log. Use the Buggy Ball and Snak Trap to capture it.
9. Cellystix: Shrink it down with Shrink Spice and use the Trip Shot to daze it, then capture it.
10. Deviled Eggler: Lure it towards a frosty Millimochi with hot sauce and shrink it when it gets dazed.
