Hold onto your slimes, folks, because the Dragon Quest 3 HD Remake is no longer just a fantastical dream! Square Enix has finally confirmed that this highly anticipated remake is in fact a reality. And let me tell you, my fellow adventurers, it’s progressing quite steadily!
Just when we thought those screenshots were merely a product of our wildly vivid imaginations, Dragon Quest series creator, Yuji Horii, spilled the beans to Famitsu. Finally, some official confirmation that this glorious remake is actively being worked on. Cue the victory fanfare!
First announced back in May 2021 with an epic gameplay trailer, Dragon Quest 3 in HD-2D (working title) promises to bring new life to one of the best JRPGs of all time. As a lifelong fan, I’ve eagerly awaited any update on this gem. A new trailer, a release date, anything! But alas, my pleas have gone unanswered… until now!
Now, I’ll admit, Square Enix could’ve given us more than just a small tidbit, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers. We’ll take what we can get, right? At least we know that the development is moving along at a steady pace. Trust me, that’s a glimmer of hope in this vast sea of silence.
Now, while we’re in the Dragon Quest mood, let’s not forget Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate, which was also announced at the same time. Unfortunately, it seems like the radio silence continues on that front. When asked for an update, Horii simply said, “There’s still not much I can say.” Well, that’s a bummer, but at least we have Dragon Quest 3 to fuel our anticipation for now!
