Exoprimal: Dino Survival Mode Guide

Exoprimal: Dino Survival Mode Guide

Dino Survival mode is the meat and potatoes of Exoprimal. At launch, it is the sole mode, and it would appear that the game has largely been balanced around it. So, get ready for some dino-mite fun!

General Dino Survival Notes

Dino Survival Victory Fistbump

At first, you will likely think that Dino Survival is just a PvE-style online shooter mode with randomized objectives. And yes, it is true, but there’s more to it than meets the eye. The missions you will encounter are not simply randomized. As you level up and dive deeper into the game, you’ll start encountering a wider variety of tougher missions.

Initially, you’ll face variations of Dino Cull as the bread and butter of the game. But fear not, brave dino hunters, because as you progress, other mission types will become more prevalent. It’s like a dino smorgasbord!

Dino Cull

A Swarm of Dinos in Dino Cull

Prepare to go on a dino-killing spree! In Dino Cull, a horde of dinosaurs will flood the area, and your task is to clear them out. But remember, you only need to kill the specific dinosaurs listed at the top of the screen. Don’t waste your precious gaming time attacking the wrong dinos!

The dino hordes come in various levels of threat. At first, you’ll face weak dinosaurs like raptors and pterodactyls. But as the game progresses, be ready to take on ankle biters, exploding neosaurs, and even big bad boss fights against the likes of Carnotaurus and triceratops. The scale of dino carnage gets massive, my friend!

Protect The Area

A Beacon in the Protect The Area Mission

This mission calls for some serious teamwork. Your job is to gather up around a beacon and defend it. Remember, the more members of your team in the designated area, the quicker the beacon charges. So don’t be a loner, embrace the power of friendship and spam that “gather up” emote!

Choosing the right team composition is crucial here. The Witchdoctor’s healing field and Roadblock’s shield will give you a solid advantage against the relentless dino onslaught. Teamwork truly makes the dream work!

Defend The Object

The Drop Ship from the Defend The Object Mission

In this mission, it’s a combination of Protect The Area and Dino Cull. Your goal is to defeat waves of dinosaurs while ensuring that the aircraft you’re defending remains intact. It’s like playing two games at once!

You can venture away from the vehicle if you have a unit that can draw aggro, but always keep an eye on its safety. Make sure to have team members dedicated to protecting it at all times. No one likes a destroyed aircraft, right?

Pursuit

Chasing after rampaging dinosaurs can be quite frustrating, but hey, it’s all part of the fun! You’ll have bouts of fighting them, then they’ll run away, forcing you to play a game of cat and mouse.

Ranged Exosuits are perfect for this mission. Zephyr’s speedy dash can help you catch up, and a well-played Roadblock can block the dinosaur’s exit, trapping it in a world of pain. Don’t let those crafty dinos outsmart you!

Data Key Security

Firing on the Enemy Team’s Data Key

Protecting data keys is no easy task, but you got this! The key (ha) to completing Data Key Security is simple: stay close to the cube. Seriously, don’t wander off or you’ll have some serious explaining to do.

During the final stage, both Data Keys will converge in the same area, and that’s when the PvP element comes into play. Having a good tank like Roadblock or Krieger is essential. And let’s not forget the healers! The Witchdoctor’s healing ability paired with a sturdy tank will keep your Data Key safe and sound.

In this Final Mission type, it’s all about capturing the flag. You’ll find three beacons, and as you control them, they’ll generate energy. The more beacons you control simultaneously, the faster your energy bar fills up. Time to claim those beacons, champ!

If you have a head start on the other team, don’t be afraid to spread out and secure as many beacons as possible. Being half a node ahead can make a huge difference. Victory is just a flag away!

Defeat The Target Accordingly (Neo T. Rex)

Fighting the Neo T. Rex

Prepare yourself for one epic boss battle! This mission has two phases. First, you’ll face a massive Dino Cull where you’ll need to defeat a whopping 2000 raptors. That’s right, TWO THOUSAND! After you clear the dino flood, the fearsome Neo T. Rex will emerge.

The Neo T. Rex is no pushover. It has deadly attacks and a tendency to whip its tail and head around. Aim for the glowing pustules on its body and when you knock it down, go for the glowy part in its mouth. That’s where the real pain is delivered!

Be careful of the environment too. Avoid the pillars and make use of them strategically. And remember, you only have 30 revives allowed, so survival is key. Skywave’s healing abilities and aerial advantage are great, so keep that in mind.

Now you’re ready to tackle the dino-filled world of Exoprimal! Happy hunting, and may the gaming gods smile upon you!
