The Summoner class in Final Fantasy 14 is like having your very own Pokemon sidekick! Starting as an Arcanist, you get the adorable, glittering carbuncles as your pets. They’re the reason why many players choose this class in the first place. Plus, carbuncles are a Final Fantasy classic. They’ve appeared in numerous titles, and they always bring an extra sprinkle of magic to the game!
Once you reach Summoner status, you’ll bid farewell to your carbuncles and say hello to Egi creatures that resemble Ifrit, Garuda, and Titan. But fret not, carbuncle fans! Square Enix has made sure you can glamour your Egi summons back into carbuncles. You can even adjust their size for certain summons. Now that’s what I call customization!

How To Unlock Egi Glamours
To unlock Egi Glamours, you need to first reach level 50 as a Summoner. Once you’ve achieved this milestone, complete the level 50 job quest “Primal Burdens” with Y’mhitra in Old Gridania. Then prepare yourself for an exciting side quest called “An Egi By Any Other Name.”
The quest is given out by Thubyrgeim at the Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (X:4.7, Y:11.4). It’s a short and sweet quest with only two steps. But now, let’s get to the technical stuff!

Glamour Commands
To glamour your Egi, simply type out /egiglamour "egi name" "glamour". Choose the “egi name” from the following options:
- Garuda-Egi
- Titan-Egi
- Ifrit-Egi
And for the “glamour,” pick one of these:
- Emerald Carbuncle
- Topaz Carbuncle
- Ruby Carbuncle
Once you’ve entered the command, your Egi will be transformed into the chosen glamour the next time you summon it. Keep in mind that this transformation is purely visual. The carbuncle glamour will still behave and attack like the Egi. It’s like having the best of both worlds!
To remove a glamour, simply type out the Egi’s name without the glamour part. For instance, if you want to remove a glamour from Garuda, type /egiglamour "Garuda-Egi".
How To Change The Size Of Demi-Bahamut And Demi-Phoenix
Carbuncles and Egi creatures are fantastic, but let’s not forget about Bahamut and Phoenix! They’re the true powerhouses of the Summoner class, and they play a major role in your Summoner rotation. By default, they may seem large, but they’re actually just medium-sized.
But guess what? You can make them even bigger or smaller with a secret text command! This cool trick doesn’t require any quests or even having the Summoner class. All you need to do is type /bahamutsize [subcommand] and replace the subcommand with either “large,” “medium,” or “small.” And guess what? This command also works for the demi-phoenix!
So there you have it, Summoners! Now you can strut around Eorzea with your glamorous carbuncles and perfectly-sized Bahamut and Phoenix. Don’t forget to flaunt your style and make every battle a dazzling spectacle!
