Gargoyles Remastered: Nostalgia Takes Flight Again!
Do you remember the 16-bit Disney platformer Gargoyles from way back in 1995? No? Well, neither do I! And I’ve been around longer than an actual gargoyle! But for all you true fans out there, Disney has confirmed that the remastered version of this classic game will be soaring its way onto PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on October 19th.
Now, if you’re scratching your head and thinking, “Gargoyles? What’s that?” Well, you’re not alone. This game only released officially in North America on the Sega Genesis (or the Mega Drive, as it’s known everywhere else) during the cartoon’s prime time. Fun fact: it was actually supposed to come out on the Super Nintendo too, but that plan got tossed out like last week’s leftovers.
Fast forward 28 years, and Gargoyles is making a comeback in the form of Gargoyles Remastered, thanks to the folks at Empty Clip Studios. But wait, there’s a twist! You can now toggle between the original’s charming 16-bit graphics and a new art style that’s supposedly inspired by the cartoon.
