Quick Links
The Crumbling Farum Azula, the final area in Elden Ring, is no walk in the park. It’s where you’ll face off against the fearsome boss, Maliketh, the Black Blade. The first phase might trick you into thinking it’s a breeze, but brace yourself for the real challenge in the second phase when Maliketh unleashes the full power of the Black Blade.

Don’t despair, though! The Blasphemous Claw can be your salvation in this epic boss battle. While it won’t turn the fight into a cakewalk, it definitely gives you an edge. With the Blasphemous Claw in hand, you can deflect the devastating power of the Black Blade. But don’t forget, defeating Maliketh still requires skill and strategy.
Blasphemous Claw Location
To get your hands on the Blasphemous Claw, you’ll need to defeat the formidable Recusant Bernahl. He’s the one who drops this powerful item. You can find him at Crumbling Farum Azula, but only after you’ve completed Volcano Manor and taken down Rykard, the Lord of Blasphemy.
To trigger Recusant Bernahl’s invasion, follow these steps:
- Start at the Great Bridge Site of Grace.
- Ascend the broken stairs and head north.
- Jump down from the right side of the balcony onto the bridge structure.
- You’ll receive a prompt, indicating that Recusant Bernahl is about to invade you.
- Defeat him, and he’ll drop the Blasphemous Claw along with his armor.

Time it just right, right before he strikes, and the Claw will parry his attack, dealing damage and stunning him momentarily. Make the most of this window of opportunity to unleash a flurry of attacks before he recovers.
