Elden Ring DLC: An Offensively Long Boss Run Wishlist

When it comes to Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, the excitement is off the charts. We’ve been speculating about what it could bring ever since the expansion was announced. From Miquella to new dialogue uncovered by dataminers, the possibilities are endless!
But amidst all the speculation, there’s one thing that I’ve been missing in Elden Ring: those outrageously long boss runs. You know the ones I’m talking about – the kind that test your patience and endurance like no other. It’s time to ‘git well soon’ and embrace the madness once again!
In the Lands Between, where danger lurks at every turn, I’ve realized how much I’ve come to appreciate the challenging boss runs of Dark Souls 2. From the Castelward Tunnel to Margit, The Fell Omen, or the Secluded Cell to Godrick the Grafted, these runs were a breath of fresh air. They allowed me to brush off failure, offering a chance for redemption without the frustration of long treks back to the boss arena.
Fast forward to the present, and after countless hours exploring Elden Ring’s open-world, I find myself yearning for that same sense of accomplishment. The Crumbling Farum Azula Site of Grace to the Godskin Duo fight, or the journey to Maliketh, felt reminiscent of the punishing boss runs I’ve grown to love.

Sure, the open-world design adds new dynamics and the inclusion of Torrent changes the game, but there’s something special about traversing treacherous paths to face a formidable boss. The tension builds with each step, and the adrenaline surges as you prepare for battle. It’s a thrill like no other.
Now, I’m not suggesting every checkpoint-to-battle boss run should be an arduous gauntlet like Demon’s Souls, devoid of mid-level respites. But a sprinkling of more grueling boss runs in Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC would be a welcome addition. Call me a sicko, but after spending over 300 hours in the Lands Between, I crave the challenge.
Of course, this wishlist might just be wishful thinking as we eagerly await the DLC. With rumors circulating about the possibility of 30 new bosses, who knows what surprises await us? Let’s hope for the best and prepare for the worst. After all, a true adventurer never shies away from a challenge.
While we count down the days, why not explore other games like Elden Ring? It’s a great way to satisfy that insatiable hunger for epic adventures. Keep the spirit of exploration alive and embark on new journeys while we wait for the Elden Ring DLC!
