How Weather Works
Weather in Lethal Company is a dynamic gameplay mechanic that randomly affects moons and significantly alters their difficulty. To check the current weather conditions for a specific moon, type “moons” into the terminal input box and look for the weather condition displayed behind the moon’s name.
While weather conditions do not appear to consistently affect the total scrap value on a moon, it is generally recommended to steer clear of moons with adverse weather conditions. However, there may be situations where you are forced to land or stay on such a moon. In such cases, it becomes crucial to understand each weather condition’s impact in order to complete the day without losing your life.
It’s important to note that weather conditions do not affect the inside of facility buildings, so you can take refuge and plan your strategy accordingly.

Rainy
When it rains on a moon, a drizzle ensues, creating quicksand patches that can be deadly to unprepared players. Quicksand appears as dark patches of mud and can be challenging to spot, especially on forested planets. If you come across quicksand, be sure to alert your teammates to avoid accidental watery deaths!
Stepping into quicksand will make you sink, causing your voice to become muffled and gurgle-y for other players. You only have a short amount of time to escape, so you’ll need to move fast. Keep in mind that if you die in quicksand, your body cannot be recovered by the teleporter, resulting in extra penalty fees from The Company at the end of the day.
The moon March is consistently afflicted with rainy conditions, featuring permanent quicksand spots that make it particularly dangerous to explore.
Foggy
Foggy weather conditions cover moons in a thick and dense fog, severely limiting visibility. While not inherently dangerous, the low visibility increases the risk of running into enemies like the Eyeless Dog and Forest Keeper. It can also cause you to lose your way, wasting valuable time or even leading to your demise.
Among the weather conditions, foggy is one of the least harmful if you have to choose a weathered moon to visit. However, we recommend only going to foggy moons if you are familiar with the exits and entrances of the facility on that moon.
The moon Titan is consistently afflicted with foggy conditions, so familiarity with this moon is crucial for a successful mission.
Stormy
Stormy moons are plagued with thunderstorms and frequent lightning strikes. Although the atmosphere is rainy and wet, this weather condition does not create quicksand hazards. However, it does pose a significant threat in the form of lightning strikes.
Lightning can instantly kill a player, with a higher chance of striking someone holding a metal object. Be wary of sparks emanating from your metal object as they indicate an imminent strike. When this happens, drop the metal object immediately and move out of harm’s way. After the lightning strike, you can safely pick up the object and continue.
If used strategically, lightning strikes can also be used to eliminate dangerous enemies in the outdoors, such as the Eyeless Dog.
Flooded
Flooded moons may initially seem harmless, with small puddles of water scattered around. However, as time passes, these puddles become deeper and eventually become impossible to traverse without losing all your stamina and drowning. To avoid such a fate, make sure to return to your ship by 4:00 pm when on a flooded moon.
Eclipsed
On eclipsed moons, night-time entities like the Eyeless Dog, Earth Leviathan, and Forest Keeper can spawn at any point in the day. This weather condition is by far the most dangerous, and we highly recommend avoiding it whenever possible. However, for those seeking an added challenge, you can refer to our guide on eclipses to navigate through the day unscathed (or at least still breathing).
