Haunted Chocolatier: A New Game, Another Old Man in Bed
If you’re a fan of Stardew Valley, then you’re no stranger to ConcernedApe and his unique style of game design. And it seems like his upcoming game, Haunted Chocolatier, will continue this trend with yet another old man lying in bed. But don’t worry, things are about to get interesting.
Last year, modders in the Stardew Valley community went wild with the grandpa bed mod. Ping-pong tables, missing grandpas, and all sorts of bizarre changes were made to the game’s cutscene. It was a hilarious and unexpected twist that made us laugh and scratch our heads in confusion.
Now, in Haunted Chocolatier, it seems like ConcernedApe is embracing this eccentricity once again. He recently shared a screenshot on Twitter featuring an elderly man tucked up in bed, surrounded by stacks of books. We don’t know his name yet because the speech box only shows three question marks, but one thing’s for sure – this character gives off some serious wizard-like vibes.
As much as we’d love to know more about this mysterious man and Haunted Chocolatier itself, it looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer. ConcernedApe has been teasing us with minor updates and screenshots, but we still don’t have a release date for this highly anticipated follow-up to Stardew Valley.
However, there’s some exciting news. Haunted Chocolatier will have a “greater focus” on combat, making it more of an action RPG than a farming sim. Don’t fret, though. NPC relationships, a staple of Stardew Valley, will still play a role in this new game, ensuring that there’s a touch of familiarity amidst the exciting changes.
