If you’re diving into the world of Marvel Snap, you’re about to discover a mind-boggling variety of card combinations. With each deck limited to 12 cards and matches lasting only six rounds, it may sound restrictive at first. But fear not! This restriction actually allows you to create tight decks that will work more often than not. It’s like crafting a perfectly balanced taco; all the ingredients play their part!
One exciting approach is to build a deck around a specific concept, such as an ability in the game like “On Reveal,” “Ongoing,” “Discard,” or “Destroy.” Alternatively, you can have a blast designing a deck based on the power of a particular card, like Sera, Patriot, or the destructive force of nature known simply as Destroyer.

Using The Destroyer Deck
The goal of a Destroyer deck is two-fold: reduce your opponent’s power while amassing enough power on your side to survive Destroyer’s ability and conquer two locations. Here’s how to achieve that:
-
Armor is your best friend, making one location’s cards indestructible. Combine it with Warpath to ensure you have enough power to claim the location when Destroyer annihilates your other cards on turn six. Clearing a location will grant Destroyer +4 Power – a true force to be reckoned with!
-
Nova and Bucky Barnes should occupy the location where you plan to play Destroyer. Although they will be destroyed by it, they’ll benefit you in the process. It’s like sacrificing a pawn strategically in a chess match.
-
Hobgoblin, Green Goblin, and Scorpion are essential additions to your deck, ready to counter your opponent’s power surge in indestructible locations. It’s the equivalent of throwing a monkey wrench into their plans.
-
When turn five rolls around, unleash the might of Professor X to lockdown a location, shielding yourself from any potential nasty surprises on turn six.
-
Embrace the power of Killmonger, especially since you only have Nova as a one-cost card in your deck. Destroy those pesky cards that stand in your way and deal with low-cost meta decks like a boss.
Alternative Destroyer Deck Card Options
Not a fan of some of the cards in the Destroyer deck? Or maybe you’re missing a few? Fear not, friend! Here are some alternative cards you can swap into your Destroyer deck:
Name | Description |
---|---|
The Hood | Destroy him with Killmonger or Deathlok, and he’ll drop a 1-6 Demon into your hand. Later, deploy that Demon into your Armor location with a spare point of Energy. |
Carnage | Destroy your other cards at a location and gain +2 Power for each. Clear the way for Professor X to lock it if an opponent’s cards or location abilities foil your plans. |
Daredevil | Peek into your opponent’s turn five strategy before making your own move. Prepare for the worst and avoid unpleasant surprises on turn six. |
Hazmat | Inflict all other cards with -1 Power. Since you plan on destroying most of them anyway, this is a little risky but more likely to help than hinder you. |
Mojo | If your Armor location fills up before introducing Professor X, Mojo is a fantastic addition. Combine him with Warpath for an explosive combo. |
Cosmo | Play Cosmo into a location and rely on Destroyer’s Power alone to secure the win, without destroying other cards. Cosmo’s ability will protect them, but you’ll still have mighty Destroyer with 16 Power. |
Feel free to mix and match these alternatives to suit your play style or personalize your deck. Remember, every card you choose contributes to the symphony of destruction that is your Destroyer deck.
Now go forth, unleash the fury of Destroyer upon the playing field, and emerge victorious in the epic battles of Marvel Snap!
