Master Detective Archives: Rain Code – Tips and Tricks
From the makers of Danganronpa comes the next big thing from Spike Chunsoft – Master Detective Archives: Rain Code. This game is a breath of fresh air with its unique sense of progression within each chapter. To succeed in this detective adventure, here are some golden rules that shouldn’t be taken for granted.
So, before you board that Amaterasu Express, make sure to bring your ticket and this article along for the ride.
Leave No Stone Unturned
First things first, don’t let the thrill of the investigation rush you. Always remember to thoroughly investigate every little thing in every available room. It may seem obvious for a game with ‘detective’ in its title, but you’d be surprised!
- Destiny 2 Weekly Reset: New Nightfall, Challenges, & Rewards
- Hyenas: All about Creative Assembly’s new FPS
- GTA Online Up-n-Atomizer weapon location
In Rain Code, investigating every nook and cranny rewards you with Detective Points (DP). Interact with objects and don’t be shy to look at something twice – you might get a few extra DPs. Who doesn’t love those? So, leave no stone unturned!
Bring Your Brain Cap
Rain Code offers players the opportunity to utilize their Labyrinth Skills through a skill tree. It may not be as complex as a full-blown RPG, but don’t underestimate its potential.
Investing points in the right skills can turn tough obstacles into a breeze. For example, in Midsummer Night’s Feed, further upgrading your skills can reduce the number of Solution Keys handed to you. The fewer variables, the better!
Don’t Fear The (Death God) Reaper
The Mystery Labyrinth is where the gameplay gets intense in Rain Code. Fast-paced question-and-answer situations can become a matter of life and death. But don’t sweat it too much!
Rain Code is surprisingly forgiving. Most instances of game over will bring you right back to where the question was asked. No need to despair, just stay sharp and choose wisely. Shinigami’s got your back… well, sort of.
Let The Villains Pontificate
Reasoning Death Matches bring their own twists and turns to the game. It can be tempting to strike at the first flaw you find in the villain’s reasoning, but hold on a second!
Let their entire dialogue sequence play out before acting. This will save you time and prevent you from being sent back to the start of the sequence. Take your time to assess the full conversation and strike when the writers want you to.
Collect Collectibles
While exploring Kanai Ward, keep an eye out for memories to restore between characters. These additional scenes provide enjoyable content and reward you with DP. Plus, they can only be found by actively seeking them out. So, don’t miss out on these hidden gems!
Throw Away Your Letters
Shinigami Puzzles can be quite challenging. With limited time, you must aim for specific letters to spell out a certain word. Feeling stuck? Then it’s time to let loose!
Start throwing your sword at everything you see. Experimentation can give you a better understanding of what you’re looking for. Just don’t get caught up in the slow barrel movement – time is of the essence!
Prepare For Trouble
Chapter Three of Rain Code is filled with Quick Time Events (QTEs) that require your quick reflexes. After a slow introduction, be ready for a sudden influx of action-packed moments. Keep your controller close by and never let your guard down during this thrilling chase-filled escapade.
Difficulty Doesn’t Determine A Thing
Right at the beginning of Rain Code, Shinigami asks you to choose a difficulty level. Here’s a little secret: your answer doesn’t change anything! Don’t let Shinigami’s tricks fool you. It’s all for show and part of the game’s charm.
Remember, Rain Code loves to break the fourth wall, and this is just the beginning of the surprises!
Now that you’re armed with these tips and tricks, go forth and conquer Rain Code’s mysteries!
