Mortal Kombat 1 unveils Johnny Cage's ultra-violent Fatality.

Mortal Kombat 1: A Hilariously Gory Game with Jaw-Dropping Fatalities!

During Evo 2023, the Mortal Kombat 1 community witnessed an epic moment when a player successfully executed one of Johnny Cage’s ultraviolent, yet side-splitting, fatalities. These finisher moves are a trademark of the Mortal Kombat franchise, allowing players to deliver an over-the-top, jaw-dropping blow to conclude the match. Despite the series’ increasing realism through high-definition graphics, NetherRealm Studios never fails to inject a dose of absurdity into the fatalities, making them more comical than shocking.

In the realm of fatalities, Mortal Kombat 1 truly shines by pushing the boundaries with its iconic characters. While the community has already seen a handful of violent finishing moves, one in particular has garnered much discussion. In a recent MK1 trailer featuring Geras and Liu Kang, the Fire God astoundingly opens a portal into space with a mere finger snap, summoning a black hole to literally tear their opponent apart. However, the most talked-about fatality at Evo is Johnny Cage’s brand new addition.

This fatality, although yet to be officially revealed, has been experienced by lucky players firsthand at Evo. Armed with the full moves list, players have discovered Johnny Cage’s first fatality—a perfect blend of ultra-violence and twisted humor. As showcased by Da Island Boyz, Cage captures a selfie with his defeated opponent, slyly placing his arm around them, before swiftly smashing their face onto his own fame-filled plaque on the ground, reminiscent of what one would find in Hollywood. To add insult to injury, Cage lifts the character up, all while their entrails stick to his hand, and takes another picture, considering their face practically non-existent.

While fans were given a tantalizing glimpse of this fatality in the official Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay trailer during Summer Games Fest, Evo showcased it in all its gruesome glory for the first time. This fatality perfectly embodies the quirkiness of the Cage family, as Mortal Kombat 11 also featured over-the-top finishers, one of which involved Johnny using his opponent’s upper torso as a ventriloquist dummy.

The build of the game featured at Evo is expected to be similar to the one beta players will receive in a couple of weeks. Including the characters from the first closed network test, this latest Mortal Kombat 1 beta build introduces Li Mei and Johnny Cage to the roster, with Frost making an appearance as another Kameo option.

Get ready for the ultimate Mortal Kombat experience when Mortal Kombat 1 launches on September 19 for PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X. Don’t miss out on the hilariously gory battles that await you!
