After taking on the Emperor and Empress as a pair, it’s time to face the Hierophant and the Lovers individually. 💑 But don’t fret, my friends, because I’m here to provide you with all the valuable knowledge you need to conquer these formidable foes. So buckle up and let’s dive right in!
Get ready to Beat the Hierophant! 🏰
The Hierophant will hit you with some tricky status ailments, the main one being Fear. When a party member is affected by Fear, they might refuse to act or even run away from the fight! How rude! 😱 The Hierophant may use the skill Doomsday Doctrine (also known as Prophecy of Ruin in the original version) to inflict Fear on your entire party. 😨 It’s a party pooper! Additionally, its skill Assault Dive has an increased chance of landing a critical blow on a Feared character. And watch out for its Makouga skill, which is an Almighty attack that hits the whole party.
On the bright side, the Hierophant doesn’t have any special strengths or weaknesses like an overgrown bully. It’s immune to the Light and Dark elements, as most bosses are. The main challenge here is its massive pile of hit points! But fear not, for I bring you tidings of great strategies. First off, bring Mitsuru into the fray, and utilize her incredible ability, Rakunda, to lower the Hierophant’s Defense. 💥 Physical attacks are also your friends, especially since the Hierophant is vulnerable to Critical blows. And if you’re feeling extra spicy, unleash Theurgy attacks to deal massive damage! Just be sure to keep Fuuka’s Oracle ability on standby for the Lovers boss. 🧙♀️

Now, pause the intense boss battles for a moment, because we have some in-between action to deal with. This part might seem like a potential disaster, but fear not! There’s no real way to screw this up, my fellow gamers. You have my word. 😉
To proceed, attempt to leave the Hierophant’s room through the front door first. When that fails (bummer!), interact with the mirror instead. After a short cutscene, the Lovers will try to control your protagonist’s mind. 🧠 You have three options: resist, give in, or be apathetic. Choose wisely, my friends, as resisting is the path to victory. If you choose either of the other options, well… the dialog will loop around and force you to choose again like a broken record.

Once you regain control, head upstairs to reunite with your trusty party members. Fuuka, our ever-essential guide, will enlighten you on the next step: finding a mirror. Check out the two rooms marked with exclamation points on your minimap. To save some precious time, start by checking the room in the center like a boss. 🎯 After indulging in all the scintillating conversation, identify and shatter the mirror that doesn’t reflect your party. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for any shiny yellow glints for useful items on this floor. 💫
Next, ascend to the third floor and survey the rooms for yet another bizarre mirror encounter. The mirror you seek can be found gleaming in all its glory in room 304. Breaking the incorrect mirror will send you back to the stairs, but it won’t ruin your day. So don’t stress too much about getting it right on the first try. 😉
With the mirror shattered and the pieces scattered, return to the Hierophant’s room to confront the daunting Lovers. But before diving headfirst into the battle, take a moment to restore everyone’s HP because you know the Lovers won’t go easy on you. And equip those shiny Charm-resist items, my friends, if you’re lucky enough to have them. 🛡️
Now, let’s Beat the Lovers! 💔
The Lovers boss is like the Hierophant’s evil twin, but amped up in every way possible. Buckle up, my friends, because this is where things get serious. The Lovers come prepared with extra HP, more resistances, and an upgraded version of their status ailment gimmick. It’s like they went to a gym to level up their boss skills. 💪
The Lovers resist Piercing and Electricity damage, and they even have the nerve to nullify Fire. But hey, we’ve got a secret weapon! You can still knock them down with Critical hits, so don’t hold back! ⚔️
In the first turn, the Lovers will always hit a party member with a nasty Holy Arrow attack. This attack is always critical and, to add insult to injury, it inflicts Charm. As if being in love with the enemy wasn’t bad enough, right? The Lovers will then follow up with Heartbreaker, an attack that hits every character. But beware, my friends, because Heartbreaker deals double the damage to Charmed targets. Ouch! This is where the Lovers showcase their gimmick. To survive this onslaught, activate Oracle during the first round if you can. Oracle is your saving grace, trust me.
The Lovers have a few more tricks up their sleeves. They can use Marin Karin to target a single person with Charm, or unleash Sexy Dance to seduce the entire party. Naughty, naughty! Once their hit points drop low enough, they’ll cast Diarama to restore a whopping 1,500 HP. Cheeky little cheaters! But fret not, my friends, they can only do this once, so think of it as having a secret, extended health bar. To top it all off, the Lovers will use Seductive Breath, rendering your party more susceptible to ailments for the rest of the fight. Talk about playing dirty!

Focus on those Physical attacks to land those juicy Critical blows (except for Piercing attacks, because that’s just a no-no). Unleash Theurgy when the opportunity arises, and most importantly, keep debuffing the Lovers’ Defense with glorious Rakunda. Trust me, they won’t know what hit them! 🎯
