It has been 10 long years since the last Pikmin game graced our screens, but fear not, fellow Pikmin enthusiasts, for Pikmin 4 is finally here! Get ready to embark on a brand new adventure with our adorable little friends, the Pikmin. In this game, you’ll lead them through treacherous landscapes, searching for treasures and rescuing officers and civilians in need. It’s time to show those baddies who’s boss!

But hold on a second, dear players, because there’s more to this game than meets the eye. In addition to all the heroic rescue missions, you’ll also need to scavenge for resources to make your life a bit easier. We’re talking about raw materials, people!

How to Get Raw Materials

Pikmin 4 Raw Materials

In Pikmin 4, finding raw materials is a piece of cake. While exploring the mysterious planet, you’ll come across these big piles of light blue rocks that aren’t just ordinary rocks—they’re raw materials! These piles are scattered all over the place, so keep your eyes peeled.

Each pile of raw materials comes with a value displayed above it. To gather those sweet materials, all you need is a single Pikmin. Yep, that’s right, just one little Pikmin to carry it back to your ship. So, let’s say the image above shows 100 raw materials—tossing 10 Pikmin at it would do the trick. Of course, you can choose to send more or fewer Pikmin, depending on your whims.

Now here’s the best part: once your little helpers start gathering from a raw material pile, they won’t stop until it’s all gone. So, you can assign a small team to handle the pile while the rest of your Pikmin squad tackles other important tasks. Teamwork makes the dream work, after all! Oh, and did I mention you can also obtain raw materials by smashing electrified barriers? Talk about a shockingly good time!

What Are Raw Materials Used For?

Once you’ve advanced enough in Pikmin 4, you’ll rescue a certain officer named Russ. This guy is a wizard with raw materials, able to transform them into all sorts of useful items and gear. Take, for example, the Scorch Guard for Oatchi. By using 100 raw materials, Russ can craft this nifty little item that grants fire resistance to your trusty companion. Safety first, my friends!

But that’s not all! There’s also a Scorch Guard available for just 50 raw materials, providing the same fiery protection to players themselves. Hooray for non-flammable adventures! Oh, and don’t forget about the Scrummy Bones—a tasty treat that can heal Oatchi. These bones can be crafted using raw materials too. Bet you didn’t know tasty healing items could be so easily made, did you?

And there you have it, folks, the wonderful world of raw materials in Pikmin 4. Remember, each little rock you find holds the potential for amazing creations! So gather them up, be resourceful, and let your creativity soar. Pikmin 4 is coming to the Nintendo Switch on July 21st, so mark your calendars and get ready for an epic adventure like no other!
