Welcome to the hellish world of Halls Of Torment, where demons run rampant and survival is the name of the game. Developed by the talented team at Chasing Carrots, this horror survival title takes you on a nostalgic journey back in time while challenging you to endure a 30-minute onslaught of monstrous foes. Brace yourself, because the demons of hell are waiting!
Equip Your Character for Success
To survive the nightmarish hellscape of Halls Of Torment, you’ll need to gear up with the right tools. In this game, armor plays a crucial role in your survival, and there are plenty of options to choose from. Whether it’s footwear, helmets, rings, or garments, each piece of armor offers unique benefits. Let’s take a look at the most effective torso protection options.
1. Plate Armor
The Plate Armor, the humblest of armors, is the perfect choice for those just starting their journey into the depths of Halls Of Torment. With moderate defensive capabilities, this armor sets a solid foundation for your adventures. Enemies will have a tough time breaking through your defenses thanks to the 6-point increase in block strength.
2. Chain Mail
Picture yourself on the battlefield with the trusty Chain Mail protecting your chest. It may be basic, but it gets the job done. Not only does it provide a 3-point defense boost, but it also grants an additional 10% health capacity. With the Chain Mail, you’ll be able to withstand more damage while dishing out your own brand of demon slaying.

3. Hunter’s Garb
If you prefer a more strategic approach to combat, the Hunter’s Garb is your go-to choice. Stand your ground and watch your damage rating skyrocket by an impressive 8% per second as long as you remain stationary. Just make sure you have the abilities and attacks to back up your stationary assault!
4. Defiant Plate
For the warriors who refuse to back down, the Defiant Plate was made for you. After taking damage, this armor boosts defense by 3 points, turning you into an unstoppable force. Although the defensive boost tops out at 30 points, it’s more than enough to get you out of a tight spot in the halls. Just be prepared to prove your defiance by surviving 28 minutes without any other defensive buffs.
5. Blood-Soaked Shirt
Now, we don’t usually recommend wearing a shirt covered in blood, but the Blood-Soaked Shirt is an exception. This unsanitary garment allows you to regain health with a 3% chance of accumulating a bonus health point every time you slay an enemy. With the countless foes you’ll encounter in the halls, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to replenish your health. To unlock this shirt, accumulate 2,000 health points while playing as the Swordsman.
6. Shadow Cloak
Who needs minions when you can summon shadows to fight by your side? The Shadow Cloak grants you the power to spawn shadows near your character for a limited time. These shadows provide additional offense, giving you an edge in combat. On top of that, the cloak slightly increases your blocking capabilities. With the Shadow Cloak, you’ll have a horde of shadows at your command!
7. Blazing Shell
Prepare to be amazed by the awe-inspiring Blazing Shell—the pinnacle of armor in Halls Of Torment. Not only does it provide a 6-point boost to block strength, but it also has a 50% chance of burning any enemy foolish enough to touch you. This fiery counterattack adds an extra layer of protection as you traverse the halls in style.
Halls of Torment is available now on PC via Steam. Gear up, survive the relentless demon onslaught, and emerge as the ultimate champion of the halls!
