Redfall 60fps Patch Still Missing as Player Count Decreases – GameTopic

You know a game is in trouble when it has a player count as low as the chances of finding a real-life vampire. That’s the sad state of affairs for Arkane’s Redfall, which is currently on life support. With a promised 60fps patch still missing in action and the game’s developer remaining eerily silent, it’s starting to feel like the end is near for this blood-sucking adventure. Let’s sink our teeth into why Redfall is in dire straits.
Mayday! Mayday! Redfall’s release was a complete disaster. It was so bad that even Xbox boss Phil Spencer himself had to step in and apologize. GameTopic’s scathing review gave it a pitiful 4/10, calling it a “bafflingly bad time across the board.” Ouch! Bland missions, boneheaded enemies, and technical issues galore made Redfall a game better left to rot in the shadows.
Adding insult to injury, Microsoft showcased Redfall running at a glorious 60fps prior to launch, only to reveal later that it would be locked at 30fps on Xbox Series X and S. Talk about a sucker punch! The 60fps performance mode promised as a patch is still nowhere to be seen, leaving players feeling drained and deserted.
Fast forward nearly half a year since its release, and Redfall is hanging on by a thread. Just take a look at SteamDB, where you’ll find a sad sight: a mere six players daring to enter its forsaken world. It’s safe to say that Redfall is nowhere near the top 50 most-played games on Xbox either. Even ancient titles like Skyrim, Mortal Kombat 11, and Star Wars Battlefront 2 from years ago are more popular. Yikes! The graveyard is getting crowded for Redfall.
But wait, there’s still hope (or so they say)! Bethesda publishing boss Pete Hines recently reassured us that Redfall isn’t dead and buried just yet. They are determined to “keep working on it,” just like they did with The Elder Scrolls Online and Fallout 76 after their disastrous launches. Hines promises that Redfall will rise again, complete with that elusive 60fps patch. He even boldly states that, thanks to Game Pass, this game will live forever, like a lurking vampire waiting in the shadows for unsuspecting prey.

Unfortunately, Redfall’s devoted community is growing increasingly skeptical. Some players are even suggesting that the game should go offline or be made free to play in order to survive. They long for the chance to find teammates and enjoy the game without fear of dwindling player numbers. One player even jokingly called for a Halloween miracle, begging for a sGameTopicificant update to breathe new life into Redfall. It seems like the clock is ticking, and the vampires of Redfall are in need of a resurrection.
In the midst of all this chaos, there’s another bone to pick with Bethesda. The sale of Redfall DLC raises serious questions. The Upgrade to the Bite Back Edition DLC, priced at a whopping £29.99, promises access to “two future heroes with unique powers and gameplay.” Yet, Bethesda has yet to shed any light on when these heroes will arise from the shadows. Talk about biting off more than you can chew!
At this point, we can’t help but wonder if Redfall’s fate is sealed. Will it fade into obscurity like other forgotten online games? Only time will tell if Bethesda can salvage this sinking ship and turn it into a masterpiece worthy of its vampire theme. Until then, fellow gamers, let’s hope for a ray of undead sunshine to pierce through Redfall’s darkest hour.
