Relics of the Infamous Necromancer from The Elder Scrolls Online Can be Found in Skyrim

Mannimarco

Ah, The Elder Scrolls, a game franchise that never fails to keep us immersed in its rich lore. Whether it’s encountering familiar faces or delving into the secrets of the past, it’s always a treat for fans. In the Anniversary Edition of Skyrim, released in late 2021, Bethesda has given us a nod to the notorious Necromancer, Mannimarco, from The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO). And boy, does it come with some awesome perks!

Now, here’s the scoop: ESO takes place in the Second Era, way before the events of Skyrim and even the very first Elder Scrolls game, Arena. During this tumultuous time, three factions were vying for dominance after the fall of the Reman Dynasty. The Tharn Imperial family, desperate to protect their province, made a not-so-wise choice and teamed up with the lich you may have heard of—Mannimarco. Suffice it to say, his betrayal was epic.

But let’s dive into Mannimarco’s backstory. Once a promising mage in the Psijic Order, he got a little too obsessed with the dark arts of necromancy and was promptly exiled. Not one to wallow in self-pity, he traveled the lands, gathering followers who were blown away by his magical prowess and his knack for raising the dead. He went on to create the Order of the Black Worm, a cult dedicated to the fine art of necromancy. And to top it all off, Mannimarco became a lich—an exceptionally powerful undead being.

Though Mannimarco didn’t leave behind a huge treasure trove, he did discard a few noteworthy items: the Staff of Worms, the Bloodworm Helm, and the Necromancer’s Amulet. And guess what? In Skyrim’s Anniversary Edition, you can get your hands on two of these artifacts during the Dreams of the Dead quest.

Gallows Hall

To embark on this hauntingly fun quest, head to Mara’s Pond, southwest of Windhelm. Look for a mysterious wooden door nestled into the side of a mountain—that’s your ticket to Gallows Hall. As you enter, prepare yourself for a House of Horrors-style experience. Mist, flying objects, the whole shebang. From here, you’ll face a series of puzzles that will put your wit to the test and ultimately reward you with Mannimarco’s prized possessions.

The puzzles range from torch-triggering to soul gem collecting, and boy, are they satisfying to solve! Along the way, you’ll acquire the Staff of Worms and the Bloodworm Helm. The staff, true to its necromantic nature, allows you to reanimate fallen NPCs with the Dead Thrall spell—hello, undead allies! Sadly, no animating animals, though. The helm, on the other hand, slashes the cost of Conjuration spells by 25% and increases your damage against the undead by a quarter. Talk about a power boost!

But wait, there’s more! Completing the Dreams of the Dead quest not only grants you these killer artifacts but also comes with an incredible reward—a free home in Windhelm! Gallow’s Hall will be your new chilling abode, complete with ample loot and even an enchanting table. It’s the perfect spot to proudly display your historical bounty or simply rack up some extra gold by selling the items. The choice is yours, Dragonborn!

The Dreams of the Dead quest is hands down one of the highlights in Skyrim’s Anniversary Edition. It adds a touch of ESO lore, gives you two badass items, and throws in a fancy new home to boot. So, what are you waiting for? Grab your controller or keyboard and delve into the spooky depths of Gallows Hall. Unleash your inner necromancer, and make Mannimarco proud!

Remember, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS3, PS4, PS5, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Happy adventuring!
