Ah, the joy of piloting starships in Starfield! It’s like Fallout 4’s SPECIAL perks got combined with the skill progression of Skyrim. As you soar through space, you’ll earn skill points by completing challenges, unlocking new ranks, and enhancing your ship control abilities. But where do you start? Fear not, dear traveler, for we have the strategies to help you level up your Piloting skill in record time!

Piloting Rank Prerequisites

Maxing out your Piloting skill is no easy task, but the rewards are worth it. Let’s take a look at the rank requirements:

Rank Description Requirement
Rank 1 You can now utilize ship thrusters. N/A
Rank 2 Increased ship turning rate and maneuverability. Destroy 5 ships.
Rank 3 Unlocks the ability to pilot Class B ships. Destroy 15 ships.
Rank 4 Unlocks the ability to pilot Class C ships. Destroy 30 ships.

To reach the pinnacle of Piloting greatness, you’ll need to obliterate a total of 50 enemy ships. These can be ships of any level or faction, even civilian ones if you’re feeling a bit villainous.

Supra Et Ultra Combat Simulation

Ship Farm #1: Supra Et Ultra

Are you ready for some simulated ship combat action? After arriving at New Atlantis, the UC Security will suggest joining the UC Vanguard program. Visit the MAST District and talk to Commander Tuala to begin the “Supra Et Ultra” quest. Completing this quest involves a spaceship combat simulation, and that’s where the magic happens.

Once you clear the initial three waves of the simulation, keep going until you can’t wave goodbye anymore. Lowering the difficulty to Very Easy is a sneaky way to make your life easier. When you’ve vanquished every wave, exit the simulation and reenter. Rinse and repeat this process until you’ve wrecked enough ships to make any space pirate jealous. Just remember, you won’t be recruited into the UC Vanguard until you finish the quest, but who needs them anyway?

Ship Farm #2: Serpentis System

If the UC Vanguard doesn’t float your spaceship, fear not! The Serpentis System is your next destination for ship farming extravaganza. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Jump to a random planet or moon in the Serpentis System.
  2. Wait a few seconds for the infamous House Va’ruun cultists’ ships to appear.
  3. Blast those hostile cultists to smithereens.
  4. Fly to a nearby moon or planet.
  5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 until you’re swimming in ship destruction glory.

While it’s not as efficient as the UC Vanguard’s combat simulation, the Serpentis System farm is a breeze if you have an excellent spaceship and a competent crew. Just be cautious as it’s a Level 55 zone. Make sure you have a top-notch ship and crew members before venturing into this region. And if space combat keeps kicking your butt, don’t be ashamed to tone down the game’s difficulty to Very Easy. No judgment here!

With these farming strategies in your cosmic arsenal, you’ll be soaring through the ranks of the Piloting skill in no time. Happy ship destroying, fellow star-traveler!
