In a not-so-surprising turn of events, Starfield, the sci-fi role-playing game from Bethesda, has become the talk of the town with over 10 million players since its release on September 1. This milestone cements Starfield as the biggest launch in Bethesda history, surpassing the six million player mark in just six days. Move aside Skyrim, there’s a new space sheriff in town!

Blast Off with Starfield

Starfield made its grand entrance on PC, Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass, making it one of Microsoft’s most highly anticipated first-party releases since Halo Infinite graced our screens in December 2021. With its immersive gameplay and stunning visuals, Starfield has captured the hearts of players far and wide as they embark on an interstellar adventure like no other.

While we don’t have the official sales figures just yet, Starfield made its mark on Steam with a peak of 330,723 concurrent players. However, it fell short of Fallout 4’s record-breaking performance, which sits proudly in 16th place with a staggering 472,962 concurrent players.

Starfield didn’t just conquer the gaming universe, but it also took Europe by storm! During its launch week, Starfield claimed the title of the best-selling game across the continent. Not only that, but it also became the fastest-selling new intellectual property of the year, and the fifth fastest-selling game overall. It may have missed out on Hogwarts Legacy’s, Diablo 4’s, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s launch sales, but it stood tall as the biggest Xbox launch this generation in Europe, just edging out Playground’s Forza Horizon 5.
