Starfield’s Concept Art vs. Reality

Starfield's Concept Art vs. Reality

Starfield: From Concept Art to Reality

Starfield

With the highly anticipated launch of Starfield just around the corner, gamers are eagerly awaiting the chance to compare the in-game graphics to the breathtaking concept art that has been released over the years. While we’ve been treated to a plethora of screenshots and videos leading up to the September launch, the early concept art was all we had to fuel our imaginations. And let me tell you, Starfield has nailed it in bringing that art to life!

The concept art of Starfield showcased a unique sci-fi setting, incorporating a “NASA Punk” aesthetic that delves into realistic depictions rather than typical fantastical elements. From the robotic companion to the meticulously designed in-game meal kits, these concept art pieces set the tone for the game’s visual style. And boy, does the final product stay true to its roots!

Starfield’s Cities: Concept Art Come to Life

As you look at the latest screenshots and videos of Starfield’s cities, it’s impossible not to notice how much of an impact the concept art had on their final design. Take a look at Akila City, for example, the capital of the Freestar Collective and potentially the home of your Starfield love interest, Sam Coe. The recent footage of Akila City perfectly captures the weathered, worn-down look that we fell in love with when we saw the animated concept art earlier this year.

But the true masterpiece lies with New Atlantis, the capital of the United Colonies. The futuristic skyscape depicted in the concept art has made its way into the game. Sure, there have been a few tweaks to the layout, but the essence remains the same. One striking example is the towering United Colonies building, which dominates the skyline in both the early concept art and the recent trailers. You can’t miss it!

Spaceships in Starfield: The NASA Punk Aesthetic Takes Flight

The detailed concept art released by Bethesda over the years gave us a taste of what to expect from Starfield’s customizable ships. Whether floating gracefully in space or parked on planets waiting to be explored, these concept art pieces closely resemble the countless ship configurations we’ve seen in recent previews.

Let’s talk about the starting ship, The Frontier. The ship made its grand entrance in the ship customization portion of Starfield Direct, and guess what? The ship’s iconic silhouette remains virtually unchanged from its appearance in several pieces of concept art. From its extended cockpit to its almost animalistic design, The Frontier is an absolute showstopper. It’s like Bethesda plucked it straight out of the concept art and brought it into our gaming reality!

From Concept Art to Reality: Bethesda’s Attention to Detail

Bethesda has truly pulled out all the stops in crafting the world of Starfield. From the food in the ships’ pantries to the diverse surfaces of the planets waiting to be explored, every nook and cranny has been meticulously sketched out. We still have a few weeks to go before we can experience Starfield firsthand, but based on the footage released so far, we can expect to see echoes of the concept art throughout the game. Get ready to be amazed!

Starfield launches on September 6th for PC and Xbox Series X/S. Make sure you mark your calendars and prepare for an out-of-this-world experience!
