There are a total of 1000 seeds to be earned and exchanged with the lively Korok named Hestu, who just can’t resist shaking his maracas to unlock additional inventory slots.
The Cork-Pulling Conundrums
Among the numerous types of Korok puzzles, players will encounter a special kind involving a stump, a chain, and corks on each side. The goal? Well, it’s simple, really – remove the plug from the stump and reveal the hidden Korok to earn a precious Korok Seed. In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll stumble upon not one, not two, but a whopping 26 of these cork-pulling challenges! So, buckle up and let’s dive into the strategies for solving these whimsical puzzles.
How to Solve Korok Cork-Pulling Puzzles
While these cork puzzles may seem like a walk in the park, don’t be fooled! Merely attempting to pull out the cork with the Ultrahand won’t do the trick due to the chain’s frustratingly short length. Instead, our hero Link will need to tap into his Fuse ability and unleash his creativity. Here are four different approaches to mastering Korok cork-pulling puzzles in Tears of the Kingdom:
Fusing a Rocket Zonai Device
- Warzone 2: The Ultimate TAQ-56 Loadout for Season 4
- Baldur’s Gate 3: Romancing Minthara Guide
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Death Mountain Guide
This method serves as a universal solution to all Korok cork puzzles. However, it does come with a catch – you’ll need a Rocket Zonai Device. While it’s advisable to save this method as a last resort, feel free to go all out if you’ve got plenty of these devices lying around. Simply fuse the Rocket to the cork, give it a good strike, and watch as the cork gets carried away by the rocket, freeing the adorable Korok from its wooden prison.
Fusing and Using Recall
To tackle this approach, grab hold of an object – a rock will do just fine – using the trusty Ultrahand. Starting and ending at the stump, draw a large circle in front of it while still gripping the rock. When you reach the stump once again, drop the rock and fuse it with the cork. Now, activate the Recall ability and target the rock. Behold as the rock moves in the opposite direction along the path of the circle you’ve drawn, eventually yanking out the stubborn cork.
Fusing a Heavy Object
For certain puzzles, a heavy object could be just the ticket to success. Look out for large objects nearby that Link can utilize to his advantage. Once you’ve connected the object to the cork, gravity will take over, naturally pulling the cork out of the stump. This method works wonders for specific cork-pull puzzles found on mountaintops or cliffs, including a challenging one situated atop a summit in the Hebra Mountains.
Dunking the Cork Underwater
If you find a cork submerged in water within a stump, fear not! The trusty Ultrahand comes to the rescue once again. Grab hold of the cork and give it a good push, submerging it as deep as possible. Release your grip, and watch as the cork bounces back up, popping out of the water like a mischievous corky jack-in-the-box, thus freeing the trapped Korok.
By employing these clever strategies, players will have little trouble conquering the delightful Korok cork-pulling puzzles scattered throughout The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and earning their well-deserved Korok Seed rewards.
