5 Missing Characters in Mortal Kombat 1's Roster

Mortal Kombat 1: Who’s Missing from the Roster?

Mortal Kombat 1 is shaping up to be an incredible game, but there are some glaring omissions in its roster. While many beloved characters have made the cut, there are still a few surprises awaiting us.

After Liu Kang’s reset of the universe as the God of Fire, everything has changed. Characters have new stories and destinies, and we can’t help but wonder who else will join the fight in Mortal Kombat 1.

Kitana’s Bodyguard Jade: A Mystery Worth Solving

Fans are already excited about Kitana’s presence in Mortal Kombat 1, but what about her loyal bodyguard, Jade? This fan-favorite character has yet to be announced for the game. Jade is an integral part of Kitana’s history, and her absence leaves a noticeable gap in the roster.

In this new timeline, Jade’s role is uncertain, but she has always been a close ally to Kitana. With her importance to several major characters, it’s hard to imagine a Mortal Kombat game without her.

Onaga: The Dragon King Returns?

Onaga may not be the most expected choice as a returning villain, but he is undeniably a terrifying foe. The former ruler of Outworld, thought to be unbeatable, seeks to reclaim everything that he believes is rightfully his. His power and ruthlessness make him a threat to heroes and villains alike.

With characters like Quan Chi and Tanya already confirmed for Mortal Kombat 1, it’s possible that Onaga could make a fearsome appearance. This Dragon King would be an intimidating enemy and a hidden threat in the new universe.

Sheeva: The Queen of the Shokan Returns?

While Goro is confirmed to return as a cameo character, there’s still no playable Shokan fighter on the roster. Sheeva, the queen of the Shokan, could be the perfect addition. Unlike Goro, Sheeva has had more varied roles, making her an intriguing character.

Sheeva’s return could inject new levels of intrigue into Mortal Kombat 1. As an important and powerful figure, she deserves a prominent role in the story.

Shinnok: The Terrifying God of Pure Evil

If Shang Tsung isn’t the main villain of Mortal Kombat 1, then we should be prepared for a bigger threat to emerge. Shinnok, an evil god with a thirst for destruction, is a terrifying presence. His fellow gods imprisoned him in Netherrealm due to his immense villainy.

Considering his former acolyte Quan Chi’s presence in the roster, Shinnok’s return is not out of the question. The Mortal Kombat universe may face dire consequences if he resurfaces. Let’s hope our beloved fighters can prevent his comeback.

An Opportunity for Kronika’s Revenge?

The universe has been remade, thanks to Liu Kang absorbing Kronika’s powers. But what if Kronika is still alive? As a time-controlling Titan and the antagonist from Mortal Kombat 11, her return could mean trouble.

While she wasn’t playable in Mortal Kombat 11, her comeback is not out of the realm of possibility. With her knowledge of a past defeat, seeking revenge might be on Kronika’s agenda. As the most recent villain in the series, it’s hard to forget her, making her potential return quite intriguing.

There are still more fighters to be revealed in Mortal Kombat 1, and we can only hope that some of the series’ sGameTopicificant missing characters find their way into the game. While most of the beloved characters are included, there are still some heavy hitters who deserve a spot on the roster.

Mortal Kombat 1 will hit the shelves on September 19, 2023, for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
