Baldur's Gate 3: Hiding Version Number
How to Hide the Version Number in Baldur’s Gate 3
Players who have been enjoying Baldur’s Gate 3 during its early access period have probably gotten used to seeing that pesky version number below the mini-map and during cutscenes. But hey, some of us were hoping it would disappear for the full release! Unfortunately, it’s still there… for now. But fear not! We’ve got you covered with a guide on how to hide that annoying version number.
Before we dive in, let’s have a quick disclaimer. Larian Studios, the developers of Baldur’s Gate 3, might eventually get rid of the version number with a hotfix or patch. But for the time being, there’s no indication of when that will happen. So, if you’re tired of waiting, buckle up and let us show you how to banish that version number from sight!
Two Ways to Remove the Version Number
There are essentially two methods you can use to hide the version number in Baldur’s Gate 3. The first one involves using a mod called Djmr’s Improved UI, which you can find on Nexus Mods. According to the mod’s description, it “removes the version text from dialogue and in-game screens.” Pretty handy, right? Just follow the instructions provided in the mod’s description and you’ll be able to install it with ease.

The other option, which is a tad more tedious, is to press F10 during cutscenes. This nifty hotkey hides the entire UI in Baldur’s Gate 3. However, if you’re someone who needs access to the UI during gameplay, you’ll have to press F10 at the start and end of every cutscene. It can be a bit of a hassle, but hey, it’s an option if you want to avoid using mods. Just be prepared to see that version number lurking under your mini-map unless you can play without the UI altogether.
For those of you who decide to go with the mod option, why not take a stroll through the wonderful world of Nexus Mods and explore the other Baldur’s Gate 3 mods available? The community has already created a bunch of amazing tools for altering classes, gameplay features, and more. You might just stumble upon something that tickles your fancy. But don’t worry, you’re not obligated to use mods. The default gameplay experience can be just as enjoyable.
