Persona 6's Eternal Life Theme

The Color of Persona 6: Will it be Green?

Persona 6

One of the most exciting aspects of the upcoming Persona 6 game is its choice of color. Each installment in the Persona series has a unique color that sets the theme for the game. With Persona 3 having blue, Persona 4 having yellow, and Persona 2 and 5 having red, fans are eagerly speculating on what color Persona 6 will bring to the table.

Rumor has it that Persona 6 will have a green motif. Green is often associated with life and nature, so it’s safe to assume that these themes will play a significant role in the game’s narrative. However, the question remains as to how exactly the story will explore these topics.

In Japan, green supposedly represents eternal life, although it’s worth noting that green and blue are often interconnected in the Japanese language. Regardless, the use of green in Persona 6 could allude to the very essence of life itself.

But how will Persona 6 differentiate itself from its predecessor, Persona 3, which also delved into themes of life and death? While Persona 3 is getting a remake, it wouldn’t make sense for Persona 6 to revisit similar concepts. Instead, Persona 6 could break several series norms and explore opposing themes.

Drawing upon the connection between blue and green, Persona 6 could emphasize the contrast between the two games while acknowledging their significance to the franchise. It could discuss the concept of death, but under a different context. For example, Persona 6 could delve into an environment-focused story where the discussion of death revolves around the death of the natural world and the importance of preserving it. The game could explore notions of eternal life through the hubristic idea that the planet’s resources will be perpetually abundant to harvest.

Alternatively, Persona 6 could take a more individualistic approach, with characters on both the protagonist’s side and the antagonists’ side searching for eternal life. Motivated by the fear of death, these characters could embark on a quest to find a method of living forever. This theme would be particularly fitting for a Persona game that moves away from the perspective of a high schooler. It could resonate with adults who may feel that their best years are behind them, grappling with the fear of aging and the notion that they haven’t accomplished as much as they had hoped. Persona 6 could challenge this mindset by portraying aging as something positive and showing that one’s best years may still lie ahead, even in their 30s or 40s.

If Persona 6 embraces the green motif, it opens up numerous narrative possibilities. From finding purpose in life to preserving the natural world and even pursuing eternal life, the game could explore a wide range of captivating themes. There could even be meta-commentary within the game, reflecting on the life found within the Persona franchise and finding a sense of renewal within it.

Exciting times lie ahead for fans of the Persona series as we eagerly anticipate the release of Persona 6. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly anticipated game!
