Go To HopeTown

Paxton Hull, the sneaky little informer, reveals that Ron Hope, the CEO of HopeTech, orchestrated the infamous farmer attacks. Armed with “Details of the Arrangement,” you must head to HopeTown on the planet Polvo and confront the man himself.
No worries, fast travel will zing you straight to HopeTown since you’ve been there before. Once you arrive, make your way to the storage area at the back of the HopeTech facility. Brace yourself for a showdown with Ron Hope.

Should You Take Ron Hope’s Bribe?

Ah, the fateful moment has arrived – Ron Hope will offer you a bribe of 20,000 credits to keep everything hush-hush. But here’s the twist – if you don’t take the bribe immediately, siding with Ron afterwards won’t earn you any extra dough.
To help you navigate through this tricky conversation, let’s break down the five possible outcomes:
Outcome | Benefits | Consequences |
---|---|---|
[Negotiation] Accept Ron Hope’s Bribe | Receive 50,000 credits | Lie to Marshal Blake; Constellation companions respond negatively |
Accept Ron Hope’s Bribe | Receive 20,000 credits | Lie to Marshal Blake; Constellation companions respond negatively |
Keep Ron Hope’s Secret | None | Lie to Marshal Blake; Constellation companions respond negatively |
Refuse Ron Hope’s Bribe | None | HopeTech security and Ron Hope become hostile; Elana Nwanko becomes CEO; Marshal Blake learns the truth; Constellation companions respond positively |
Attack Ron Hope | None | HopeTech security and Ron Hope become hostile; Elana Nwanko becomes CEO; Marshal Blake learns the truth; Constellation companions respond positively |
If you’re leaning towards Team Ron Hope, go ahead and take the bribe for that extra cash. But remember, if you refuse or choose violence, get ready for a brawl with Ron and his bodyguards. The rest of the HopeTech facility won’t be hostile, though.
Of course, the real consequences lie in what your hard-to-please companions think. If you want to keep them on your good side, avoid siding with Ron Hope. Although, if you’re soloing it with no companions, taking the bribe won’t have any major repercussions.
Return To The Marshal

Regardless of your decision regarding Ron Hope, it’s time to head back to Akila City and chat with Marshal Blake. Prepare to debrief him on the whole Ron Hope situation. Oh, and if you sided with the slippery CEO, lying to the Marshal is a must.
Marshal Blake might not be thrilled with the outcome, but don’t worry, he won’t blame you. And hey, if you happened to off Ron Hope, the Marshal might express some concern about Council members being eliminated, but it’s more of a casual remark than anything consequential.
Whichever way you dealt with HopeTech, congrats! You’ll be bestowed with the title of Freestar Ranger, complete with a new weapon, armor set, and the sleek Star Eagle ship. The ship mechanic at any major city’s docking bay will hook you up. Plus, you’ll unlock additional bounty missions in Freestar Space. HopeTech, consider yourselves officially dealt with!
Quest Consequences

Surprisingly, this quest doesn’t have any major consequences for the galaxy. But hey, at least some HopeTech employees will have a few words for you if you chose Ron Hope’s demise. Beyond that, life in Freestar space remains pretty much unchanged.
Where things do get interesting is with your companions. Shortly after proudly becoming a Freestar Ranger, all Constellation companions will have a chat about the investigation. Beware, if you let Ron Hope escape freely, Sarah won’t be pleased. Agree with her frustrations, or you’ll be hit with a massive affinity penalty. Killing Ron, on the other hand, will win you favor with all your mighty companions.
So, there you have it, space cowboy/girl! The Hammer Falls quest brings plenty of thrills and some tough decisions. Choose wisely, befriend your companions, and enjoy your shiny new title! And don’t forget to check out our guide on The Best Crew Members, Ranked.
