What Is Iron Banner?
Iron Banner is a legendary PvP playlist that appears twice each season. It’s the ultimate test of skill and teamwork, where Guardians battle it out to earn Iron Banner reputation with Lord Saladin at the Tower. By completing Iron Banner matches, you’ll unlock exclusive weapons, armor pieces, and even a prestigious title if you complete enough Iron Banner Triumphs.
But Iron Banner is more than just a typical Crucible match. It features a unique game type and a different reward track that sets it apart from other playlists. Let’s dive into the game modes and rewards that await you!
Forging Iron Quest
When you first step foot in the Tower during an Iron Banner week, you’ll come across a new vendor named Lord Saladin. He’s your go-to guy for earning Iron Banner rewards. Speak to him, and he’ll give you the “Forging Iron” quest, which covers the basics of the event.

The quest consists of six steps, most of which are relatively easy to complete. One of the key steps is to earn 300 Iron Banner Rank points, which you can achieve by completing Iron Banner matches. To speed up your progress, equip subclass elements that match the daily challenge requirements and use Iron Banner weapons and armor pieces. Finding a team is also recommended but not required. The rest of the quest steps will naturally be completed as you play Iron Banner matches.
What Are Daily Challenges?
Daily Challenges in Iron Banner are your gateway to increased reputation gains and more exciting gameplay. These challenges, found in the Iron Banner playlist, require you to complete specific objectives tied to subclasses. By completing these challenges, you not only earn additional reputation but also receive a reputation multiplier for all Iron Banner matches throughout the week.

Iron Banner Ranks
Just like other ritual activities, Iron Banner features a reputation system with different ranks. As you complete Iron Banner matches, you’ll earn reputation with Lord Saladin. The more reputation you accumulate, the higher your rank becomes. Reaching higher ranks allows you to redeem exclusive rewards, such as weapons, armor, and even Masterwork materials once you achieve the rank of Legend.

Eruption Explained
Eruption is Destiny 2’s explosive variant of Clash. It’s a 6v6 game mode that offers a thrilling experience by greatly increasing the ability energy you receive from final blows. As you rack up kills, you’ll gain ability energy and Super energy, allowing you to unleash devastating attacks on your opponents.
But beware! When you reach a killstreak of five, you become a Primed target for everyone in the match. The Hunt begins, and the pressure mounts. Defend yourself, hold your ground, and aim for victory. The team that reaches 150 points first claims the win!
Rift Explained
Rift is Destiny 2’s heart-pounding take on one-bomb Assault or one-flag CTF. Two teams battle it out to capture a Spark at the center of the map and deliver it to the enemy team’s base. But it’s not as easy as it sounds. You’ll need to work together, defend your Spark carrier, and prevent the enemy team from scoring.
