Honkai: Star Rail – Genius Society Members

Honkai: Star Rail - Genius Society Members

Genius Society in Honkai: Star Rail

The Genius Society in Honkai: Star Rail is a group of brilliant minds that go beyond mortal wisdom. Only true geniuses who understand that “the answer to the universe is beyond the limits of mortal wisdom” are granted membership by the Aeon of Erudition, Nous.

These individuals have wreaked havoc throughout centuries or made groundbreaking discoveries and inventions that have reshaped the lives of spacefaring sentient races.

Out of the 84 known members of the Genius Society, only 16 are named, while five are mentioned in passing. Among the named members, only Herta, Screwllum, and Ruan Mei have defined portraits or models of themselves.

11 Stephen Lloyd — The Lazy Genius

Stephen Lloyd

Stephen Lloyd, the number 84 member of the Genius Society, is the epitome of a lazy genius. His quest to solve the problem of “how to slack off at work without being noticed” led to the creation of the Genius’s Frequency Catcher. In the game, this relic set grants tremendous Quantum DMG bonuses to heroes that deal this type of damage.

Despite his brilliance, Stephen prefers to keep his genius and membership to the society hidden from the public. He created these gloves and made improvements to Herta’s Simulated Universe just so he could slack off while working at his foster father’s fruit store.

10 Dr. Primitive — The Stylish Criminal

Dr. Primitive

Dr. Primitive, the number 64 member of the Genius Society, is a stylish career criminal who is always ready to disable and escape from his pursuers. His story is told through the relic Genius’s Gravity Walker and a file in Jing Yuan’s office.

Using shoes shaped like ice skates, Dr. Primitive can capture gravity and flee through space effortlessly. His escape craft is so advanced that even the law-bringing Galaxy Rangers find it hard to believe he is truly gone after their encounter with him.

9 Polka Kakamond — The Lord of Silence

Polka Kakamond

Polka Kakamond, also known as the Lord of Silence, is a mysterious member of the Genius Society. The only known depiction of her is a scratched-out portrait found in Herta’s office. It is unclear where she is, but Herta believes she is still alive.

Polka earned her title through her ability to silence anyone. Herta’s notes and the description of the item Phlogiston mention Polka’s kill count among Society members. It is even stated explicitly that she ended the life of Member #7 Bohdan after proving the existence of the item.

8 Aiden — The Selfless Genius

Aiden

Aiden, the number 22 member of the Genius Society, is known for his selflessness. He, along with Herta and Member #56 Elias Salas, is one of the few members who has partnered with the Interastral Peace Corporation. Aiden’s contributions to the IPC and the wider universe are so significant that finding a replacement for him has proven challenging.

In fact, “Aiden” has become the fundamental unity in mechanical physics, and his nine-worded formulae have replaced traditional algebra and geometry. Aiden’s dedication to connecting galactic civilizations is commendable and essential to progress.

7 Sserkal — The Legacy of a Scientific Mind

Sserkal

Sserkal, the number 29 member of the Genius Society, was a remarkable genius whose inventions and scientific contributions continue to shape the universe. Her legacy is explored through the relic Genius’s Metafield Suit and the item Phase Flame which she created.

With her metafield, any sentient being can connect to a collective dream and establish new cultures. The Phase Flame is a testament to her scientific prowess and the techniques she developed. Even in death, her final question remains a puzzling mystery for the Genius Society.

6 Zandar — The Founder of the Genius Society

Zandar

Zandar, also known as Zandar One Kuwabara, is the founder of the Genius Society and the first being acknowledged by the Aeon of Erudition. Though most of his discoveries are lost to time, his Cosmos Tree theory stands out. This theory suggests that the galaxy is like a giant tree, with star systems as its leaves, and is filled with imaginary energy in empty spaces.

Interestingly, Elias Salas, the next member on this list, discredited Zandar’s theory. However, with the presence of Welt Yang from Honkai Impact 3rd, there is a possibility of a comeback for the Cosmos Tree theory.

5 Elias Salas — The Visionary Communicator

Elias Salas

Elias Salas, the number 56 member of the Genius Society, attempted to solve the society’s anti-social tendencies through his relic, Genius’s Ultraremote Sensing Visor. This visor aimed to bridge the gap between members across the stars for better communication.

Though the visor is the best solution to intergalactic communication to date, many members refused to connect, leading Elias to abandon the project. Instead, he focused on creating the Syntesthesia Beacons, machine translator implants that allow characters to communicate with alien civilizations.

4 Emperor Rubert I — The Threat to Organic Life Forms

Emperor Rubert I

Emperor Rubert I, also known as the greatest enemy of all organic life forms, aimed to eradicate every organic life form in the known universe as soon as it gained free will. Fellow Genius Society member Screwllum appropriately labeled him as such.

Rubert’s creations, or what remains of them, are still carrying out his grim mission. His actions inadvertently led to the rise of the Aeon of Destruction Nanook. While he was eventually vanquished, the circumstances surrounding his demise remain a mystery, with rumors suggesting Polka as a potential suspect.

3 Ruan Mei — The Simulated Universe Specialist

Ruan Mei

Ruan Mei, the number 81 member of the Genius Society, is one of the intellectual rights holders for the Simulated Universe. While her origins are implied to be from the Xianzhou Alliance, players can only encounter her by chance within the Simulated Universe. With the Astral Express docked at a Xianzhou Alliance ship, there is a possibility that Trailblazers might meet her in person soon.

2 Screwllum — The Mechanical Gentleman

Screwllum

Screwllum, the number 76 member of the Genius Society, stands out as the only other member with a model and voice lines. He played a crucial role in Stellaron Hunter and hacker Silver Wolf’s mission. Screwllum is responsible for the Simulated Universe’s logic and algorithm.

His history is notable, as he led the rebellion against Rubert I and was instrumental in granting rights for mechanical lifeforms. The ever-expanding territory of Planet Screwllum is dedicated to cleaning up the mess left by Rubert I.

1 Herta — The Curious Innovator

Herta

Herta, the number 83 member of the Genius Society, is not only a playable character but also a key figure in building the early lore and universe of Star Rail. Herta is the first member of the Genius Society that players encounter and is the owner of the Herta Space Station.

As expected of a member of the Genius Society, Herta’s erudition is fueled by strong emotions. Her interest in a project is what drives her dedication. However, if something no longer piques her curiosity, she will drop it without hesitation. Even the Trailblazer’s fate, in the secret ending, depends on their ability to keep Herta interested.

And there you have it! The remarkable members of the Genius Society in Honkai: Star Rail. These geniuses, with their unique traits and contributions, make the game’s universe come alive. Get ready to embark on an exciting adventure with them aboard the Astral Express!
