This guide contains significant spoilers, so proceed with caution.

How to Kill Erin

Erin

Erin is quite the unlucky character in The Devil In Me, as she has the most opportunities to meet her untimely demise. Throughout the game, there are multiple circumstances in which Erin can die. Here are the ways you can send her off:

  • Blackout: After investigating the hallway, Erin finds herself locked in a dark room. She encounters a mysterious man who offers her an inhaler. To kill Erin, she must attempt to fight this person, resulting in her getting stabbed.
  • Silver Ash (1): If Erin survives the blackout, she ends up in her bedroom. As she opens a hidden passage, she enters the Silver Ash Institute. When the lights go out, she can either hide or run to the door. To kill Erin, she must run to the door and encounter Du’Met, who stabs her with an animatronic doctor.
  • Silver Ash (2): When Erin gets trapped in a white room, Kate and Erin are forced to choose who will live when the air starts draining out. To kill Erin, Jamie must deliberately let her run out of air.
  • Maze: As Erin reunites with Kate and Jamie, they encounter Du’Met in a maze. If Kate chooses to climb instead of running, Erin will die.
  • Lake: If Erin makes it to the lighthouse, Du’Met tries to kill her by impaling her with an axe if she fails a quick-time event.

How to Kill Charlie

Charlie

Charlie is the second character in The Devil In Me who can meet an early demise. However, he manages to find some creative ways to survive. Here are the points in the game where you can get Charlie killed:

  • Incinerated: Charlie falls into a trapdoor and wakes up in a basement filling with gas. To kill Charlie, have him try to force open the door.
  • Waste Disposal: In a dark room with grinders, Charlie can die if he fails multiple quick-time events or if he can’t keep calm in Du’Met’s presence.
  • Hotel Grounds (1): Charlie can die if he fails to hide in the warehouse, resulting in Du’Met gutting him and stringing him up.
  • Hotel Grounds, Cliffside (2): Charlie dies if he fails a balance check while crossing an unsteady beam.
  • Lake: During the final showdown at the lighthouse, Charlie can die by having his head chopped off.

How to Kill Jamie

Jamie

Jamie is the most self-aware and pragmatic character in the game. However, even she can meet a grisly end if certain timings are missed:

  • Observation Room (1): Jamie can be caught by Du’Met in the observation room if she fails multiple quick-time events.
  • Observation Room (2): In the same room, Jamie can be crushed if she doesn’t have the screwdriver or loses it during the chase with Du’Met.
  • Rooftop: If Jamie survives the observation room, she can die if she pleads for help and Kate refuses.
  • Forest Path, Homestead: Jamie can die if she doesn’t kill the dog, Connie, and if she asks Kate for help while being pursued by Du’Met.
  • Lake: Jamie can die if she doesn’t jump during a confrontation with Du’Met in the boat, resulting in a gruesome death.

How to Kill Mark

Mark

Mark is a difficult character to kill, as he always finds a way to escape Du’Met’s clutches. However, there are ways to ensure his untimely demise:

  • Lake (1): If Mark fails the QTEs during the boat fight with Du’Met, he can get hit by the axe on the back.
  • Lake (2): Another failure in the QTEs against Du’Met can result in Mark getting his throat stabbed with the back of the axe.
  • Lake (3): If Mark fails to pull Du’Met with the anchor, he can get impaled in the chest.

How to Kill Kate

Kate

Kate has fewer chances to die compared to other characters. However, there are unique moments where she can meet her end:

  • Observation Room: When trapped in a room with a glass wall, Kate can be crushed if she has the screwdriver and the glass wall is sent her way.
  • Lake: During the boat escape, Kate can die if she fails a QTE while trying to use the anchor against Du’Met, resulting in a snapped neck.

How to Kill Connie

Connie

Connie, the Morello family’s dog, can also meet a tragic fate in The Devil In Me. Normally, players have the option to save Connie, but there is a way to kill her:

  • Homestead: Players can choose to kill Connie to prevent her from barking during the chase with Du’Met.
  • The Curator’s Reaction: The Curator, even he will react negatively, commenting on the surprising cruelty of the players’ choice to kill the dog.

How to Kill Everyone

Everyone Dies

If you want to get the worst ending possible in The Devil In Me, you’ll need to make sure everyone dies. To achieve this, only Kate and Mark should survive, and the “Lake” chapter won’t happen. Instead, the story will skip to the Ultimatum chapter. Here, Mark faces a difficult choice:

  • Mark says nothing, refuses the deal: Du’Met injects acid into Kate’s nose, melting her insides, and then suffocates Mark.
  • Mark complies, asks for help: If Mark asks for help, the scene transitions to a scenario where he invites the next victim, June Collins, and her family to the island. However, since June thinks it’s a prank call, both Mark and Kate are killed.
  • Mark complies: If Mark complies normally, the scene shows him welcoming a family to the island before trying to escape on a ferry. But the ferry is chained to the island, and they are pulled back. The final shot is Du’Met aiming a rifle at them.

How to Kill Everyone At Once

If you want to achieve the satisfying achievement of killing everyone at once, you’ll need to ensure that everyone survives the entire game until the boat escape in the “Lake” chapter. Then, during the final showdown with Du’Met, fail all the quick-time events. This will result in all the characters dying, allowing you to earn the achievement.

Everyone Dies

While it may take some time to achieve this unfortunate outcome, it adds an extra horror film twist to the game’s ending. And don’t worry, you can always reload your save and try to save everyone for a happy ending!
